UNDP promotes advanced information and marketing technologies in trade

Ashgabat, 17 September 2020: The joint project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan "Strengthening the Trade Capacity of Turkmenistan" organized the first online seminar on the application of advanced information and marketing technologies.

The seminar took part with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. The goal of the seminar is to discuss current advanced information and marketing technologies in trade and test the online mode of the training for specialists of the trade sphere of Turkmenistan.

“Using digital technologies is nothing but improving delivery of goods and services in much better and efficient way compared to traditional commerce”, noted Mr. Ravinder Raina, International expert with many years of experience in training and advising government and private entities around the world.

Participants of the online seminar discussed international best practices in ICT application in commerce, market oriented approach to marketing, marketing strategy, e-commerce concepts, transactional flows in e-commerce, global trends in e-commerce, features of business models, e-marketing tools, strategic pillars of e-commerce and framework for e-commerce development.

“Strengthening the Trade Capacity of Turkmenistan” project was signed between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and UNDP to develop trade capacity of the country through the development of human capital in order to increase the competitiveness of national staff and transform human intelligence into the leading factor of economic growth and national competitiveness, diversification of export and increasing the share of higher-value added products in export composition.
