UNDP held a Training of Trainers on Human Rights

The work team is working on mechanisms of Human Rights protection/UNDP in Turkmenistan

shgabat, 7-15 October 2018: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan together with the Institute of State, Law and Democracy has organized a five-day training of trainers on Human Rights and International Mechanisms on Human Rights Protection.

20 participants from different institutions, including members of Bar Association, experts from the Institute of State, Law and Democracy, instructors from universities and institutions, as well as representatives from public organizations enhanced their facilitation skills and increased their knowledge on human rights mechanisms.

The 5-day training course was facilitated by Mr. Igor Kuzminich, the international expert from Belarus, , who also developed a training manual on human rights for national experts. The training was focused on human rights concepts and  on practical sessions using interactive methods of facilitation. The participants were actively involved in peer-to-peer learning and simulation sessions. It is planned that group of trained trainers will conduct cascade trainings on Human Rights in the Human Rights Centers in velayats.

This activity is among key initiatives within the framework of the joint UNDP and the Institute of State, Law, and Democracy project “Assistance in implementation of the National Human Rights Action Plan”, which is funded by the Government of Turkmenistan.
