UNDP and national partners work together to raise awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Ashgabat, 6-9 November 2018: On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan organizes a series of lectures for university students and teachers on UDHR and human rights mechanisms. The main purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of what the declaration means in everyday life and to show how it empowers all of us.

A visiting Professor of the Faculty of International Law at the University of Liverpool, England, Mr. Konstantin Dzehtsiarou gives a series of lectures for students and teachers of the the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the International University for Humanities and Development in Ashgabat. The visit also includes several consultations with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan to promote  integration of the Universal Human Rights Education in educational system in Turkmenistan.

Global campaign dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights to promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) kicked off in December 2017. The campaign has three core objectives: to promote, engage and reflect. #Standup4humanrights
