The implementation of the joint project of the Academy of Civil Service and UNDP to enhance human resourcesJan 26, 2018
Ashgabat, 25 January 2018: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Civil Service Academy under the President of Turkmenistan discuss project results for 2017 and consider priority areas for cooperation for 2018.
The project, designed for 2017-2019, is aimed at providing assistance in such areas as developing plans for the development of the civil service academy, updating curricula taking into account the priorities of the country's social and economic development, and expanding cooperation with the leading schools of public administration in countries of Asia, Europe and CIS.
“This project is very important for us because it allows to demonstrate UNDP’s commitment to implement 2030 Agenda in Turkmenistan and support the Government in its effort to improve the civil service in the country. During 2017, we have successfully implemented multiple lectures, seminars and round tables with participation of international experts. In 2018, we have set more ambitious goals as we are approaching the time when the Academy and UNDP experts will work on long- and mid-term development strategies, identify the vision of the improved academy and define its mission,” underlined Vitalie Vremis, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative.
During the discussion of the results of the work for 2017, the participants of the meeting noted that in the context of growing global competition, the modernization of the management system of state and municipal employees is a strategic direction. Another important aspect of the educational process of the Civil Service Academy is the improvement of staff management technologies in the public sector, since the adoption of managerial decisions directly depends on the competence of the specialists participating in their development. It was noted that the study of international experience and the introduction of innovations in the personnel process are important for the national system of civil service.
Within the framework of cooperation with UNDP, the Civil Service Academy will continue to modernize the thematic and content part of the programs for advanced training courses for civil servants oriented to the priorities of Turkmenistan's social and economic development.Contact Information
