Priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announced the positions of the country for the upcoming 70th UN General Assembly. It is important that 2015 mark the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on international recognition of the permanent neutrality status of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan offers to use the neutrality potential to ensure long-term peace, stability and security in Central Asia and its neighboring regions.

The priority areas highlighted in the positions of Turkmenistan at the 70th UN General Assembly include:

-          International policy, peace and security

-          Cooperation in the economic, energy and transport spheres

-          Cooperation on issues of water management and reduction of disaster risks

-          Cooperation in the social sphere

To achieve the goals set forth in the priority positions, Turkmenistan will propose a number of initiatives.
