  • Advancement of Social Inclusion and Integration of Persons with Disabilities

    UNDP and the Deaf and Blind Society of Turkmenistan are working together with the Government to promote employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and, most importantly, to review the national legislation for compliance with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and formulate a National Action Plan on people with disabilities.

  • Purposeful Strengthening and Expanding of Qualified Services on TB Diagnostics and Treatment in Turkmenistan

    Beginning in 2010, UNDP has been supporting Turkmenistan in implementing the National Programme on Control of Tuberculosis using a grant worth US $ 17 million from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In partnership with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan UNDP helps strengthening and expanding of qualified services on TB diagnostics and treatment in Turkmenistan.


UNDP’s partnership with Turkmenistan in the area of human development is focused on supporting national efforts to achieve sustained socio-economic development and high living standards of the population in accordance with the national development plans and priorities, including MDGs. In particular, UNDP helps strengthening the National Programme on Control of Tuberculosis, socio-economic integration of vulnerable groups of population and modernizing public administration.
